For as long as I can remember, the holiday season is the season that truly embraces the spirit of giving. Everyone is getting their decorations out and Christmas cheer is definitely in the air. This is the most magical part of the year. We celebrate the true meaning for the season, and everyone seems to enhance their generosity. Perhaps it is because as humankind, we understand the importance of sharing, caring and loving one another. The circle of giving is just that – a circle – it keeps going round and round.
It truly shows the gracious hearts of the community to see all of the food, clothing and time people donate to their communities. There are so many different ways to give back. During the holidays, I always notice donations of time and material items. These are two easy ways to give back to people you love and the community.
The possibilities are endless when your heart is in the spirit of giving. Sharing with and giving to others is always something that you can do – whether it’s dropping a dollar in the Salvation Army red cans, giving food to those who are hungry or even sending a card to a friend to spread the holiday cheer. Bringing a smile to someone’s face this time of year is the best gift of all.
We are happy to announce the kickoff of The Spirit of Texas Clothing Drive. In partnership with Ticket 760, we will be collecting clothing from December 1 – 23. Donations will benefit the Guadalupe Home and San Antonio Inner City Development. There will be three locations to drop off donations: During business hours at Pedrotti’s (13715 FM 1560 N, 78023) or Ticket 760 (6222 NW IH10, 78201) and on each Thursday until Christmas you can donate at Freetail Brewing during Ticket 760 remotes. For more information regarding specific clothing items that are needed, visit our Facebook page or website.
Happy Holidays to each of you! This season is the true season of giving.
